How Does It Work?

Coach Technology™

“A proven coaching methodology supported by customized software”

Coach Technology™ was designed to support the coaching process: it captures coaching activities, assists in the delivery of feedback and action plans, and supports managers with automated activity follow-up. The tool provides a fast and easy-to-use method for the systematic capture of performance information gathered during coaching interactions and ensures a consistent application of coaching and competency development models. Used in sales, service, manufacturing and compliance situations, Coach Technology™ simplifies the delivery of coaching and assists with assessment and performance appraisal processes. The Coach Technology™ interface is easy to use and captures important coaching interactions.

The Coach Technology™ system often integrates individual and team performance data and is available online or offline. It supports managers in:

• Capturing coaching assessments, notes and action plans
• Delivering feedback and “Work With” reports
• Following up on past coaching sessions and employee commitments

Using Coach Technology™, organizations are able to assess and direct the target, frequency, nature and quality of individual coaching interactions and improve the employee experience (see Figure 1).

Coach Technology™ is currently being used in pharmaceutical training and sales departments, financial institutions, call centres, retail sales environments, and in physician-resident training programs.

To assess coaching throughout the organization at a glance, those using Coach Technology™ have the ability to create scatter gram charts. Each diamond illustrated in Figure 2 indicates the relationship between coaching and performance. The chart provides an overview of coaching and performance for the entire sales team.

Figure 1. Individual coaching, performance comparison
Figure 1
Coach Technology™ has proven to be a “performance accelerator”, rapidly enhancing the management of frontline personnel. This report illustrates the ability to track and compare the frequency of coaching sessions (light green boxes along bottom axis) with individual performance (dark green boxes) along with a trend line average.

Figure 2. Coaching, sales objective comparison
Figure 2
Coach Technology™ advanced report options enable the preparation of scatter grams. Each representative on the scatter gram is positioned by tenure, percentage of sales objectives achieved and by number of coaching sessions. Managers can quickly identify the recipients of coaching, investigate their performance compared to their peers, and refocus management efforts.
